Virgin credit card

Hi everyone.
I recently applied for a Virgin credit card - the one with 0% for 16 months on balance transfers. I have approx 1k on a credit card and due to interest and PPI, I'm paying around £30 per month on that alone. I'm trying to pay £70-£100 per month on the card, but I applied to Virgin so I could balance transfer and pay it off quicker interest free.
I filled out the application online and at the end it said 'we need more information before we can make a decision'. That was it. It's been a week and I've had no letters, emails or phone calls from them.
Does anyone have any experience of this? Will they contact me or have I just added a search to my credit file for no reason?

Virgin will contact you - they have up to 10 working days to do this. It could go either way. Basically the automated system was unable to make a decision so it has gone to a human underwriter to decide.
If it is urgent, you could call Virgin and enquire as to progress with your application.

Thank you for replying. It is not urgent so I will wait for them to contact me. I'm hoping I get accepted, if not I'll just keep paying it off as quickly as possible. I do not want to dent my credit file by applying for more cards.
I have a decent salary, always make payments on time and have a good credit history. I'm hoping this will sway things in my favour.0 -
Virgin have an automated system for applications - if you can remember the password that you put on the application! If you dont get an automated accept or reject they can put you through to an underwriter who will give you a decision there and then if your case is not complicated. For me it was an anomaly in my address sometimes I use a house name and sometimes I don't so it was picked up when I confirmed to them they accepted straight away. Its a free phone number so give it a go - 0800 0921 321

Note for future reference: when completing applications, I would make sure your name and current address matches your details as they appear on the electoral register. Pay particular attention to the way first name(s) as well as surname are recorded. Also, a line of your address may be inserted/omitted or the order reversed, where new build, a house name or a block of apartments is involved (you'd be surprised how often this happens), otherwise the credit reference agencies may not find you on their database, even though you've lived at the same address for yearsPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
