BT - what a waste of day!

I am so upset and mad:mad:. I got my son to come down from Oxford just to be in the house this morning to await the BT engineer. He needs to instal a socket so i get the line in the house. I have been in touch with my all morning checking to see if the engineer had turned up so he could go back to Oxford. The appointment was from 8 - 1 p.m. At 1.10 the engineer had still not turned up, rang BT and i am told that he turned up at a white door (could be anyone's anyway) left me a card that he had turned up (no card in the letter box) and had called me on my mobile - no missed call or any message and I told the customer services person. Sorry the next earliest date they can fit us in will be a week later. Now that will be taking time off work, or get my son out of Uni to come and hang around again as i can't even be given a specific time. Can anyone advise what to do about this as this is not good enough at all. What a waste of time and day for my son! and it will cost me time out of work. BT rep any offers to resolving this????:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Car Insurance Carver!
Sounds like an Openreach engineer being 'imaginative' with his timesheet.

Perhaps he's thinking of becoming a member of parliament!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Is there any chance of a BT rep looking into this problem of your engineer claiming to have turned up at house and there is no proof of this. Another 6 days to wait and also to re-arrange somebody to be in the house. I am sure you can get the engineer to come back earlier than 5th October????:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
