Just stumbled over a website highlighting the above issues in a very amusing way.

    If they don't like it then they should buy a smaller car rather than a BMW or Merc.

    Granted they dont have the same tailgaiting and general road rage ability.

    He asserts that the average road tax this year is £197 per car and next year will be £267 per car by adding up the value for each band and dividing by the number of bands, so far so good.

    Then he multiplies these numbers by the number of cars on the road to give the additional revenue that will be raised, £23bn. This takes no account of the mix of cars in use and so is a completely idiotic calculation.

    In that sense it is amusing.

    ETA:Not sure he's even got the band rates right.
