Reporting an untaxed car - Is office Car park a public road?
Options
There has been a Car left in our office Car park now for the last two weeks and it hasn't moved. It is displaying an out of date tax disc (ended at the end of July). We have raised this with the Office landlords but they don't seem to be in a rush to do anything but as we have very limited parking we want to get rid of it.
Having looked on the DVLA website it has a methos for reporting untaxed vehicles 'on the public road'. Would our work car park count as the car being on the public road?

However, the keeper may not have declared SORN so it could be worth reporting anyway.0

Abandoned car, report to police as may be stolen and / or councilYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

If its a road accessible to the public (ie supermarket car park) then it must be taxed.0

My experience of reporting untaxed cars on the road outside my house is that the response time is months not weeks or days.0

when i lived in a flat some idiot kept buying clapped out old bangers and then leaving them in everyones space, the landlord had to sort it out as it was private property0

You can check if the car is untaxed/SORN on the DVLA website. All you need is the make & license plate.

The police will only become involved if it has been stolen or used in a crime, or if it is unsafe (smashed windows etc)
If it has been abandoned on private property (an office or pub car park for example) then it is not illegal to not display a valid tax disc. It is the responsibility of the land owner to remove the vehicle, but they have to remove it without damaging it, and leave it somewhere nearby where it does not cause an obstruction. Once this is done the DVLA can deal with it as it is on the public highway.
If the land owner isn't bothered about it being there, there isn't much more you can do.0
