  • Why not chill, just visit PISA,LUCCA,FLORENCE etc this time around, then next time do ROME and around, then VENICE another time.Theres loads to see and do in each of these areas.Infact you could easily spend the rest of your life just exploring ITALY.

    That would be a plan.

Milan still has some very interesting sights, Duomo, 'The Last Supper' etc but I would agree with the comment on Bergamo.

Have you considered flying to Rome and flying home from Venice, and travelling up in the middle? We went for 2 weeks and did Rome-Florence-Rimini-Milan. Had already been to Venice so left it out that trip. We really enjoyed that trip travelling around, only place we weren't keen on was Milan (should have chosen Bergamo which we have now also been to and loved).

  • Hi,
We are planning a similar trip.(£1 Ryanair !) 3 children and three adults, flying into Pisa but hoping to get an apartment/villa between Pisa and Florence. been checking out the fast trains etc to Rome, probably only do Rome this time for a day as it looks a bit much to try Venice as well, as previously mentioned. Does anyone know of any last minute sites for getting a villa/apartment in Italy or have experience of booking last minute for such a place in Italy ? We are travelling next Sat. the 3rd for 8 days. I've looked at some of the last minutes sites but didn't find anything that took my fancy. Any tips appreciated. Ta
