Istanbul is fantastic and I'd highly recommend it. Definately makes it into my top 5 cities (out of those I've visited so far!). Of course which you'll enjoy better will also depend on your interests etc0

Lots to see and do in Istanbul. The list of must-sees is endless!
My favourites were:
The Blue Mosque
Topkapi Palace/Harem
Hagia Sofia
The Grand Bazaar
The Spice Market (oh the smells take some beating!)
Galata Bridge watching all the locals fishing
A Bosphorus Cruise
The Underground Cisterns
Visit the Pudding Shop
I could go on and on! One thing I didn't have time for and would do on a second visit is to sail across to the Princes Islands. And did I mention all the restaurants .....!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Thanks for the tips! Is it expensive/cheap there?0

It's a few years since we were there and, at the time, it was cheap but I think prices have gone up a lot throughout Turkey since then. Perhaps a more recent visitor can advise you of up to date prices."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Which is the best of the two airports to fly to or doesnt it matter?0
-
Ataturk Airport is the main one and has better public transport into and out of the city. It is worth looking at which as the cheapest flights from where you want to fly from.
Istanbul is cheaper than the UK but like most 'is it cheap?' questions it depends on where you want to stay and eat and what you want to do. I would say it is similar in price to many Eastern European cities but more expensive than most Middle Eastern cities.0
