Additional allowances whilst in theatre

I have heard that personnel receive additional allowances whilst out in theatre and a tax free bounty once the tour has ended. Can anyone confirm this please and let me know what the sums are and how much they are. Are they added automatically to pay or is there a form that needs to be completed and submitted to the payroll office?

First off all this information is available through your pay office/HR.
The LSA rates are posted on a thread here - and the Op Allowance equates to roughly the same.
The LSA should be started when you deploy and the Op Allowance plus council tax rebate is submitted on return. The Unit clerk should do that when you get back to your parent unit as it is based on how many days away - and at the same time stop the LSA.0 -
1. LSA depends upon numbers of days absent through career and is paid monthly.
2. Op Allowance is paid once an individual is End Of Tour'd by unit admin staff.0
