Who is responsible for making sure that no further payments are sent

Case is closed balance nil, We are owed money back but due to incompetance at csa can't say we will get it.

However, it would now appear that DH payroll have deducted yet more money from his salary. should the csa let the employer know to stop making the deductions or is the employer at fault as the DEO states 5/9/09-5/9/09 and no mention of other dates in the future.

many thanks

That means nothing. My partner had a DEO order which ended in much the same way. He called to query this and they said that the computer must have made an error and that they would send out another schedule.

    Have you called the CSA?

I have called up and because the case is technically stuck (and has been for 3 weeks!) They haven't been able to issue a note to employer to say "stop taking the money!" It such a farce from a government agency, I will be furious if that payment is made to the other party as I doubt we would ever see it again. I can't believe how quickly they can take money off you but are not very quick to finish it off. We have been milked for long enough.

Have they forgotten how to use a phone? Get back on to them and insist that they do something. It may be helpful if you have the employers phone number to hand (well it'll save them having to look it up.....).
  • I am really annoyed about it all, I can't understand how there system can be "stuck", it's a real mess! They have screwed up all our plans now for moving on with our lives and finances. We have been paying since 1993 through this farcical agency with mess up's galore. I have been chasing breakdowns of account, telling them that the "child" wasn't even in further education, asking for confirmation of that fact and still none of these questions where ever answered. I have dealt with them on DH behalf after a woman at Dudley made personal assumptions and very rude comments, and I can honestly say some of the people I have spoken too have spoken to me like a second class citizen. To still keep taking money from someone who has paid his dues is deplorable. I don't know what else to do now, as I said in my earlier post, if that money goes to the moneygrabbing PWC I will go mad, she has had more than enough over the years and I know that any request for repayment of overpayments will prompt an unwelcome visit from either one of them. Do they not realise that they are playing with peoples lives and their finances? Do they even care?

I would ask them to call the employer and back up with a written instruction - it can't be that difficult!

Wrong. Some do, some don't same as anywhere. It's the subject matter that makes the ones that don't care so wrong. I have to admit that the OP seems to have been dealt with by someone who doesn't give one, but both Kellogs and I have posted stating that the matter can be dealt with, and what procedure the OP should insist on.

I have to say that if I had been the OP, I wouldn't have put the phone down until the case had been dealt with in a satisfactory manner. I find it completely inexcusable that nobody would help this person.

Some might do. But the they in the post I was referring to was the person who the OP dealt with, and it would appear they do not care or they would have done something about it.

I certainly agree with you on that point! If it was their money it would be a different story I guess....
  • Thanks for your support on this, we had quite a bad night here as you can imagine, we have been paying an extortionate amount for 1 18 year old for the past 18 months, purely as a last ditch attempt by PWC to extract her last squeeze of the cash cow. We have had to beg steal and borrow money each month to balance the books. I am utterly fed up with it all and my DH is sinking into further depression over it as it is worrying him that all this may provoke an unwelcome visit. (CSA gave our address to PWC in the last year and details of our circumstances i.e. Our Child etc) It is disgusting, I feel like I am flogging a dead donkey on this one. Apparantley the system should have generated a letter but because its "stuck" there is nothing they can do, including instructing employer to give us the money back - I don't believe it for a minute. CSA have told me that they will be back to me on Tuesday with an update. I don't hold any hope for this either really. I think it will be just the same, "the case is stuck". Fact is we shouldn't have been paying anyway, this child hadn't been anywhere near a college or further education. We have just been supplying a "lifestyle" for him, which in fairness is wrong of a Government agency to expect us to get into financial distress to fund and no I don't mean we have been supplying food and shelter we have been providing the "extras" which quite frankly if he is old enough to do, he is old enough to fund.
