Does It Matter What The Law Says? (Income Support)
SecondClass
I have just received a letter from Income Support which reads 'How much the law says you need to live on = £51.45' and at the end of the letter it reads 'you will get £40.70 a week' does this mean they are blatantly breaking the law? or does this mean the law does not apply to them? The amount 'the law says' is a pittance but how am I supposed to even afford the essentials like food, electricity and gas with this reduced amount? any help gratefully appreciated

What is your total household income? Do you owe any money, for example, a crisis loan etc......there is more to this than you are saying.Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

The law applies to 'them' as it applies to you. You either, have income of £10.75, and therefore the taxpayer doesn't need to pay you the full £51.45, or JCP are deducting £10.75 because you owe £10.75.0

I have been told I owe money from 2001 which I have no knowledge of and I beleive is another method being introduced to steal back money from people. They have provided no proof of this I also believe it is against the law to try to retrieve debt over 6 or 7 years oldWhat is your total household income? I also get letters saying....the law says you need to live on....
and then states the amount i will receive which is lower than what the law says you need to live on but this is because i had a budgeting loan and now paying it back.
If you cant think of any loan you have received then i would phone them up and ask why the money is being taken off you.never start frowning, because you never know who might be falling in love with your smile!0
