I'd be grateful for any information about this number. We've had 3 calls in 2 days from it - I guess it's an automatic dialler as there doesn't seem to be anyone at the other end of the line.
Thanks in advance!

In summary, it's a T-Mobile Indian call centre trying to sell you a phone.

If, as is highly likely, it becomes obvious that they don't know who they're calling, give 'em a false name and address and make up some bank details for them to try to charge.

    Good marketing ploy T-Mobile!

It just meant I changed my PAYG from T-Mobile to ANYONE ELSE.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Thanks for the replies.
I've looked on the t mobile site and they say this:

"I keep receiving calls from companies claiming they are working on behalf of T-Mobile
We only call our customers if we have permission to do so and ask for identification to confirm we are talking to the right person - we will never ask for bank details as a form of identification. Companies that do so are not affiliated with T-Mobile and are marketing without our permission."

    The mystery deepens!
