OH and I in Starbucks, OH's drink comes in a cup with a bright pink lipstick mark.

I point it out to staff, immediate apologies and given a voucher to get any drink, any size on my next visit.

The drink is remade in a fresh cup.

Was impressed with the immediacy of it all.:T

Starbucks generally are very good like this when things aren't correct. My girlfriend and I have had reasons to complain a couple of times, however, we normally write (well e-mail!) head office, and are usually sent a couple of vouchers.

I use to work in a cafe a long time ago and think woman wearing lipstick should pay extra. Even the high powered high temperature industrial dishwasher they used could not always get the lipstick off mugs meaning that each one had to be checked and then scrubbed and put back in if it had lipstick on. I can well imagine how this mug has got through especially if your in a rush. To be honest though it would be sterialised lipstick and perfectly alright to drink from.

Stabucks can afford to be generous with the prices they charge.

I used to work for them as a manager and they have very strong reason to keep customers. With all the little cafes and coffee shops springing up and competitive pricing from Costa/Cafe Nero etc etc they need to keep their customers sweet. If you're in any way unhappy with any aspect of your coffee ask them to remake it. One of the baristas where I worked was notorious for forgetting to make the milk extra hot and we lost hundreds of pounds a week having to remake coffee.

Also the same applies to paninis if they're 'over cooked'
