Egg Money Application

Egg did not allow me the increase which I find really strange, as I have never used my other Egg card in 4 years (long story, basically I forgot I had it) and that has a 4k limit. Should I cancel that card as I don't use it, then re-apply for higher credit on Egg Money in say 3 months?

Why do you want a high limit on Egg Money ?
You have to pay back what you spend on it each month
or you will pay interest !
If you intend to spend £1500 a month, then ask
for a £2000 limit just for emergencies.
Are you are going to spend £4000 a month ?
then a amex card would be better.
There is no 0% deal on egg.m
you earn 1% on what you spend
or get 4% for money on the egg.m card.
If you spend on it and do not repay it all each month
you will pay 6.9% or more depending on your t&c's

I've been trying to complete the online form to get an Egg Money card for about a week now and each time I get a message which says:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to continue with your application at this time, due to problems we are currently experiencing.
If you have completed the Egg registration process and set up security, you may complete your application at another time as we will have saved the information you've already provided."
Needless to say my details have not been saved. Anyone else had this problem or is it just me? Suggestions please as I'm getting fed-up with trying.0 -
Hi No 6 - thanks for comments but I can't apply for new cards at the moment, so have to make the best of the Egg Money. I wanted to have a higher limit as wanted to book flights @ £1,200 and get max cash back. I could pay it off as I have that money in savings, so I would have incurred no interest. Because Egg did not raise the limit, I had to use a different c/card in the end.

Hi Dustsucks,
I am experiencing exactly the same problem. I rang them; they can't complete the application over the phone and they tell me there is nothing wrong with the website!0 -

I've tried 2 different browsers on 3 different PC's so perhaps it's something to do with what we're entering somewhere. Anyway, as it seems difficult to get a reasonable credit limit on this card, judging from what others have written, I'm going to try the other options now!0
