Poor quality inkjet compatible inks.

Four weeks ago I bought 12 inkjet compatible cartriges from Ebay, which were delivered quite quickly.
I gave positive feedback because of the competitive price and fast delivery.:o
However, when I tried to use them today, they are absolute rubbish and produce a smeary/smudged print out even after several nozzle cleans.
Is there any way I can change my positive feedback as a warning to other possible purchasers.
I've emailed the seller and raised a dispute with PayPal.

As a seller on other sites I always appreciate a buyer contacting me with any problem they have - allowing me to rectify an error to the buyers satisfaction - I have 100% feedback.

Why are you so quick to want to warn other possible buyers and involving paypal?

Having emailed your seller, with presumably, the details of your problem ... could you not let them try to sort it out for you? .... then judge them on their performance as a whole instead of, as it appears, wanting to bash them with feedback and paypal because you have received a few duff inks .... it happens ... they are knocked out cheap as chips in china and there will always be a few duffers in a box.

It's how your seller performs in sorting out your problem [speed/refund/replacement, etc] that counts when considering what action to take.

Just my own thoughts as a seller.

I think once feedback has been submitted to ebay, that's it [maybe ebay can remove it if it's abusive or whatever] but I don't know if you can 'add' to it.
Learn to laugh at yourself ... everyone else has:rotfl:

You can add a follow up to feedback but can't change the original feedback or score.
It would be wise to hear back from the seller first.
Personally I've always found 'compatible' or refilled cartridges more trouble than they save.

I only ever use Jet tec, but inkrite are ok as well. Get what you pay for normally.

I have never any problems with inkjet cartidges brought on Ebay. They also tend to last longer as they are filled more than regular ones. The only problems I ever had is with Tesco branded replacement ones which my printer routinely refuses to reconise!
For my printer a proper cartidge from the manfacturer costs £16-£20 depending which shop you buy it from. On Ebay you can get them for £4-£8. I recently brought two for 99p each postage free as someone had sold replacement ones they had brought but never used.
  • I've had very mixed results with replacement cartridges. They often seem to smudge, and it seems difficult to predict which will do it - I bought one brand for a while and they were okay, then later the same brand started smudging and one didn't work at all and had to be returned. And these were a reputable supermarket brand on a (by modern standards) quite simple cartridge type. I think it varies a lot on printer manufacturer, too - some cartridges are just more difficult to copy/refill than others.

As expensive as it is, I only buy the manufacturer's cartridges these days... and print my packing slips in draft quality :)

Well it was resolved very quickly within 24 hours.

The seller has unconditionally refunded me in full through PayPal.

Sadly, it seems I'm not able to amend my feedback to reflect just how bad the inks I received were.

On a more positive note, I bought some 'proper' inks today and my printer is working fine, so at least there is no lasting damage.
  • Agreed mikey72. Jet Tec are the best ink cartridges that I've found too...followed by Inkrite. I get my ink cartridges from www. ukinksupplies .net. They are the cheapest that I've found and usually arrive next day. Jet Tec ink cartridges often print as much as 100% more than the Epson made cartridge so extra value printing all round.

    Cheers,

    James.
PS Oooops just realised that this is an old post!
