Dodgy tailor

Hi,

My partner purchased 2 CK suits for a very good price at the savoy tailors guild in Portsmouth, the jacket fit like a glove but the trousers were too long and too big in the waist (he has a very broad top and a really small bottom half, and couldnt mix/match the trousers) Anyhoo, the company told us they would give us a special 2 for 1 on the alteration and would cost him £30 instead of £60 so he agreed, the shop assistant took the measurements and we were happy with where she pinned it to be taken up and in. the following week (saturday) we went back to the shop to collect the trousers and when partner tried them on, it was as if he was waiting for a flood to come! they were taken up too much, even the assistant who measured him originally said they were taken up too much and not what she took and the waist from what we could see had not been touched, so we took measurements again and told they would re-do it and send them to us in London as it was unfair to have to go back again, and should get them by the tuesday, it got to the thursday and we still did not receieve the trousers so called up, and the manager told OH that the trousers were ready, and in the store waiting to be collected, OH then reminded him that they were supposed to be sent out by post, manager apologised and said fine, now considering they were in the store, and was told on 3 occassions they were sent, it took a week to arrive by DHL (they came today) anyway, he tried them on, and they have totally botched it, the length is fine now, but the way the waist has been taken in really is a shambles, lets just say everything is bunched up in his rear now.

He obviously wants his money back now as this is getting a bit silly and once again we have to drive all the way to portsmouth to sort out this mess, but I know how companies can get funny with alterations is there anyway he can get his money back, or will it be a case of you decided to alter it so tough luck?!?!
