United Utilities - Gas meter change

Just a word in relation to Meter changes that are ongoing at the present time.
I got a letter stating that a meter changer would be calling between 8am and 8pm on a day in September.
However as a working person I couldn't remain in all day for an engineer to call (who can) so I called them and told them so.
They renegotiated a 5pm -8pm slot for me a week later.
So like you do rushed home (forgoing an overtime opportunity), palmed my son off on someone else for his football practice and waited in.
Noone turned up.
Called them at 830pm, apparently the engineer turned up at 720pm and I wasn't in...LIE!
Sent an email strop, charging for my wasted time and phonecall. Have a credit being made to my gas bill!
Will wait and see, but apparently it is within BG terms and conditions.

They will pay out I think it's £20 per missed appointment.
A friend had that same problem lat year ended up with £80 credit on the bill and they still never turned up to change the meter and haven't even been in touch with her to try and book another appointment.
