Are my letting agents legit???

I have had a lot of trouble contacting my letting agents in the last few months as they rarely answer their phones. Yesterday when I rang the office number and asked for the people who were dealing with my property they said they were no longer operating from there. When i spoke to them regarding this they told me they no longer had an office or a land line number but to carry on paying my rent directly into the bank account. Should i be worried??

  • does your tenancy agreement have your landlords address? I'd be inclined to contact them direct, just incase. at least that way you know you're paying the rent and it is reaching the landlord?

  • There is no landlords address on the tenancy agreement only the old office address.

try going to https://www.landregistry.gov.uk and for £4 you can find out who owns your property and there may be an address on there other than the one you live at

when is your next rent due to be paid ?
