  • BeenieCat,
No not at all. I browse the forum regularly, i've just never posted before. But having had such a negative experience with the company, I felt i had to reply so that shell06 could make an informed decision :)
Having spent a lot of time, effort and money trying to make the venture work, I had to share my view. x
  • I totally agree with MadMummyof2. I have also worked for this company and got fed up with customers having to wait weeks for their orders to arrive, particularly over the Christmas period. Head Office constantly fail to deliver on promises and just recently had to wait months for the new catalogues to come out leaving agents without catalogues which does not look very professional.

On a positive note, the toys are lovely and did sell well, it just needs a bit more oomph from Head Office rather than them spending time dabbling in their other businesses and leaving the work to everybody else.

  • Wow what a cynical bunch! Yes I did register with MSE to post my reply, but I am genuinely an agent, not part of some promotions team. I agree that you do have to work hard to make lots of money, but I have never been under any illusions to the contrary. You are basically running your own business, so it takes time to build up a customer base, you get out what you put in, it's not a get rich quick scheme and not for the work shy, but the toys do sell really well, and if you know lots of people with children you've got a readymade client base. I happen to enjoy the work, and the fact that it's so flexible is great. Orders can take up to two weeks, but they are a small family run company, and they are very up front about the delivery time. I have had a positive experience of the company so far :cheesy:

If people are upset by my posting an honest response to a question then I apologise.

However, shell06 did ask for people's experiences so why people should be so surprised that people post and say good things, I am not sure. I have to say that as an agent I have always enjoyed working for Tish Tash Toys.

I understand that it may be that it didn't suit some of others who have posted here, but that is the nature of party planning. Unlike some of the other big companies who have millions to spend, Tish Tash is a small friendly, family run business. I like that I am known by name when I call Head Office and I am not just a consultant number. I would recommend anyone to join up and as tishtashtams says you only get out what you put in.
  • Everyone kept telling me 'you get what you put in', but it's not quite that simple  As said previously, the toys are pretty good, but they were also getting quite expensive at the time that I left, and people (certainly in my area, and i know in a lot of other areas) weren't prepared to spend that sort of money. It really depends if you live in an area where you think they will sell. I did well in the first instance, but it soon thinned out dramatically.
As for the 'great' support from Head Office, I certainly didn't see much of that!
In the time I spent with them, there was a huge turnover of agents. I havent worked for any other party plan company, so I dont know how they compare, but there were certainly a large number of people who left or never got started.
The other company they have is Great Green Toys.
I am still a SAHM and I am still always on the lookout for extra money. Currently, I am doing pretty well with a home catalogue company.
All i'm saying is it is worth looking around at what is out there and weighing up start up costs for each business, plus the likely demand in your area.:D
