  • I think that was a fair price. And I agree with Goldie, alot of people pay out alot of money for things, but are reluctant to pay for their cars to be fixed. The mechanics have bills to pay and families to look after - do you really expect them to work for nothing?

    the rachet thing is plastic it happened on my BIL escort however he went to our family mechanic.. the part from ford was around the 32+vat price then labour
    iirc it cost him about £110 so i dont think you have been ripped off
