refund of AA membership before year's up?

Hi this is my first post so here goes....
I've recently renewed my car insurance and the best deal was with RAC who also offered a cheap breakdown package, making it an even better deal. However I still have about 3 AA months membership left (RAC was still the best deal even taking this into account)
I was going to just cancel my AA membership, however the small print implies that I'm not due any refund. In this case I may as well keep it in the unlikely event I need to call a breakdown service out several times over the next 3 months (as you're only allowed a max number of call outs per either company)
Just wondering...as the small print isn't 100% clear and my last dealings re membership query last year were horrendous - has anyone been in a similar situation and cancelled AA membership before the year's up and got a refund?
thanking you all...

I doubt you will get a refund, the best you might get is the 3 months "frozen" so you can restart it when your RAC cover ends.
I also had an upsetting experience with the AA after my father had died, they wouldn't offer a refund, stating he had taken out the policy for a year and saying it wasn't their fault he wouldn't be needing the cover anymore, which was true but not very sympathetic in the circumstances.0
