Did the advice actually work?

If you have a different age vehicle then maybe the manual has been altered and maybe this method has been removed / changed?

Does seem a bit odd that the handbook would tell you how to cancel the service reminder.

Its actually to reset it, rather than cancel

I found the users manual online, unfortunately its in Spanish, lol but you get this idea from the translation and picture

Press the 000.0 button in and turn key to number 2 position and it counts from 10 to 0 and thats it.

If it was in the handbook then the garages wouldnt like it I would imagine as folks would ignore it and it'd be doing them outta dosh.

Ive just spent the last hour going through my drivers book and the service book and there is no mention of how to reset the reminder, only mention it gets is in the display section where it tells you what the symbol means.

i have the xsara car not MPV.. and its not shown in my manual ( mines an s reg) so may have changed since then i dont know

bizzare it was in my 2000 model and is in the spanish one!

Shouldn't the garage that serviced the car reset it anyway? Seems odd that they haven't, unless you had serviced before the indicator came on, but still - am sure that they would have done it for you if you had been stuck. Thankfully, some on here were helpful and you did it yourself!

ive always serviced my own cars, i prefer to know whats been done
