  • i found my new property by placing an ad in the housing wanted section of Gumtree,
you can specify what your looking for and what your willing to pay, it's free to place an ad so you've got nothing to loose.
i had a lot of responses from private landlords and have found a lovely property and am moving very soon.

you could put a "property wanted" ad in the local newspaper

even better - go to the local council and ask them for a list of Accredited Landlords" who are folks whose property has been inspected by the council and who have to reach a certain standard
