Car Servicing & MOT

Hi all

I've being quoted nearly £200 to service a Fiesta (30,000 miles) and another £45 for the MOT. This is at a Ford garage.

Is it worth paying it to keep the full manufacturer's service history or will the value not really be affected as long as I keep it serviced?

Plus £45 seems steep for an MOT. Whats the going rate nowadays?

The maximum charge for an MOT is £44.15 SEE HERE if the garage is charging more, report them, they can charge less but not more.

Therefore, with the prices you give, that means they want £155 to service it:eek:, if it is just a normal service I cannot see it being more than £70, but then again it is a franchised garage!!
