    Hi Honey,

I can advice as I joined a few weeks ago myself. With the £25 fee you get about 15 books, which you can then sell at fayres etc - once you've started selling you'll probably want to start buying more as you go to sell - the cost would be minus your commission (as in, not full price). With regards to schools, there are a few different ways you can do it, you can:
    1. Ask the school to pay for their order before ordering the books
    2. Pay for their order yourself and ask them to pay once they have them
    3. Invoice them through Usborne (if you joined, all instructions are available to you on how to do it)

There aren't hidden costs as such but things that I have found I'd had to pay for are:
    >costs of hiring stalls at fayres etc
    >postage and packaging for recieving deliveries (from £3-£5 depending on value of order)
    > leaflets, such as baby and toddler leaflets, catalogues, and info leaflets. These are all quite cheap though and you dont necessarily need them to sell books!
    >maybe you could class having to print posters from computer?

apart from that there is not much outlay to be honest. I've tried other home businesses before and found that the cost and targets of everything have put me off - but am really enjoying this and the risk is so low - only £25!

    Hope that helps
    Amy :)

Thank you for your reply. I am also convinced!!
There are Christmas fairs coming up and to get into them I need to sign up soon and would like to sell the books there, so I would need to order a selection and pay for them myself first, is that what you are saying?

Well when you sign up and pay the £25 fee you get books (around 15) in your kit that you can then take to the fayres to sell. If you wanted more, you can then pay for more (at reduced cost), but people can also order them through you if you dont have what they are looking for at the time. I would suggest ordering more than £100 at a time to help on cheaper postage and packaging but you dont have to.

I have pm'd you by the way.

If your upline is close enough I'm sure they would lend you some stock books to help get you started, that's what my upline did for me. You can gradually build up your stock each time you place an order. I've built up mine gradually and have a good selection for all ages now.

This time of year is great - I'm getting lots of bookings at the moment for the run up to Christmas.

I copied and pasted the response that I had put in the forum and messaged it to Honey.

Thank you. Are there any NI based Usborne agents on here?

    Hi Honey,

I have a lady in NI - would you like me to put you in touch with her? If so, drop me a pm.

    Hi there

Have you heard from anyone near you? If not, I'm in the Midlands if that's any help. I'd be happy to answer any questions . You'll find that this thread and others give you lots of info too :cheesy:.
