Since using the above, I am getting more confused, it has picked 35 suspected threats and they are growing everyday? One virus in quarantine. Is this the norm, does anybody who uses Kaspersky's log shows 0 threat? Thanks

i have been getting attempted attacks from the helkern worm for ages now. it always says it has been blocked but the attacking computer has not been blocked as the address is possibly spoofed. i got another as i typed this.0 -

there is usually the ability to click on a link for a solution with anything it detects. it can be something like update certain software. mine sometimes says flash player is a risk.
ps when you do a scan it asks whether you want it to remove discovered threats. do you say yes or no?0 -

perhaps it is in the settings regarding whether you get asked the question. i am still on 2009 version at the moment though.
i asked because perhaps if it removes them that is why it is telling you you have zero threats. i always say no incase it deletes something that isnt risky that i need. i look in the detected list after a scan and if it says anything is risky i look up the solution in the link provided.
it is a nightmare for novices. there is still plenty of stuff i dont have a clue about in it.0 -
Reminder to all Kaspersky users, Kaspersky runs in 'Medium' mode by default.
To set to 'High', open Kaspersky, click on 'My Protection', click on any of the links in the right-hand pane, now select the topmost item in the list on the left. You should have a slider appear in the right pane, move this up to 'high'. Do the same for all the other items in the left-hand pane.
As you work your way down, make sure to set 'Email scanning' to 'Incoming and Outgoing', and do the same for 'IM messaging'.
On 'Application Control'. tick the top 4 boxes.
Now you will be better protected.Never Knowingly Understood.
