  • I was assessed at NIL 1 day before they closed the case. They told me they wont re-open it now because my son is too old - 19 years and 3 months now. I just wanted to highlight another CSA cockup for the list.
CSA complaints now have to explain why they closed it early.
  • Further to my last post - I have just had a CSA letter through the post this morning.
They have decided to revise the effevtive date of closure of my case from 1st September 2008 to 8th June 2009 which is the monday after his 19th birthday.

I think that must mean that the CSA are admitting another !!!!-up on my case.

I was asessed at nil just before they closed it, so that's ok. However, I was on CS1 before - so does that mean the case would be re-opened automatically on CS2 because of the 13 week gap?

I would have thought this would remain on the old CS1 system as it's a re-opening of your old case & not the starting of a new case from 01/09/08, regardless of it being over a 13 week gap.
We all know of the standard CSA incompetence though, so it may be worth getting them to confirm this in writing.

CSA case closed on 02/09/10 :beer:
  • I just had a lengthy chat with CSA complaints - i think we caht for about an hour a week on average - and they are not going to change me from CS1 to CS2 ''because I have a nil assessment and it wouldn't make any diference''.
They are going to compensate me in some small way though - stay tuned for how much I get.....

just wanted to ask do the csa keep you informed along the way? just asking as
my step-son turns 16 after xmas then shortly after leaves school, im guessing they would keep us informed regarding payments if step-son decides to go to college or if he doesnt

only contact we`ve had off the csa is the statements

No they don't - do not rely on them, they're useless

    thanks frugallass,

will have to write to them next year to make sure they keep up to date as im guessing that if step-son doesnt go to college (if he gets a job) then payments stop for him,
    ooohh so confusing isnt it

it's very confusing and it never gets any easier

I'm totally stressed out thanks to the CSA

I have two complaints in against them at the mo

Hubby has had one and has just started another

I'm in dispute with them about arrears due to me and have a home visit planned for Friday afternoon - the poor girl won't know what she has let herself in for (I hope she likes exotic pets;) )
