I also got nothing but blacks screens and errors for 19 minutes... Ho-hum.

  • ooohh - nearly got one!! Just bombed out at the T&C stage when it wouldn't let me agree. Never mind - got the adrenaline flowing for a bit there anyway!!

Well I am really hacked off!!

Was all ready, waiting for the clock to count down. Then nothing happened. Refreshed, black screen. So went to the normal booking screen as I thought that maybe you just had to book as normal.

Made a booking and have been charged the full £136.

Afterwards, I realised there are links for the £1 or £29 rooms, none of which work anyway.

Had a confirmation email for my booking and it says that any cancellations made will not be refunded!!!!

Is this actually legal?! I thought you had to give 2 weeks cooling off?

Trying to ring them but cannot get through.
Yikes - didn't it say £136 before you hit finish? Even if it did it's easy to miss in the rush.

Suggest you phone or email them asap - I've stayed there once before when I was lucky to get the £1 promo and the staff are very nice and approachable.

Hopefully they'll be understanding and refund the booking, let us know how it goes.

Yeah it did say the price when it booked it, but I am new to this and didn't understand how it worked. I just thought you had to make a booking from that time and they would email you if you were successful for the offer.

My fault I suppose. But I am sure they're not allowed to not refund you by law. Oh well, guess I'll be staying in this weekend to pay for it if they don't!

If they agree to refund you they can do that, there's no law against it. For example, Kimi Raikkonen had a year left on his contract with Ferrari but with consent from both sides they've ended it a year early. If both sides agree there's no problem.

Whilst they say no refunds you don't lose anything by asking anyway and explaining the situation, as I said, I'm sure they'll be understanding.

Having said that if you decide to stay there, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! :)
  • The servers seemed to be under even more strain than ever - I know every trick in the book but still repeatedly got connection errors, crashes. refused connections etc. HOWEVER, I did still manage to get a £29.00 room at 12.13pm so I'm happy. It's a great promotion that is understandably massively popular so no wonder the servers have trouble satisfying the demand of simultaneous hits.

Well done all that got £1.00 and £29.00 rooms and see you next time.

I am sure this is not the cae, they can refund you at their own discretion. Why would there be a law saying that they can't refund you:D
  • I got part way through but it kept telling me to check out and I couldn't work out how to do it!!! Any tips for next time?? Thanks Carrie

Did you click on two dates on the calendar? The first date you click is check in date but then you also have to click the on the date you wish to check out - for this promo the next day. This caught me out the first time I ever did the promotion as I was more concerned on completing the booking.
  • Thanks Nathan. Only clicked on one duh!! One day (in the next five years) I might get a room. Anyway as someone said - gets the adrenaline going. Thanks again Carrie
