Can I paint rattan furniture?

Hi I have been offered a rattan wardrobe and wondered if its possible to paint it, if so how? Was thinking spray paint of some sort but would it just crumble off? The wardrobe is for my daughters room
thanks x

any normal emulsion paint in a tin willl be fine imo, just paint it on. Spray paint would work but would be more expensive.

I used spray paint on an old linen basket & it was a great finish. Maybe you could use emulsion, but if you try it I'd recommend you don't load too much on the brush.
