Child Savings Advice

Hi all, need some advice on savings for my 2 year old.
She currently has £1000 in a CTF with Leeds Building Society - it is cash-based and currently paying something rubbish like 1%.
She also has around £950 in a Natwest Child Savings account and gets £1.26 in interest each month?
I want to keep two seperate accounts as the CTF is not in my control when she turns 18 and she might turn out to be a right brat! So want one under my control.
Can anyone point me in the way of 2 better accounts? Cash only. Dont mind tying it up, 3 years max if the interest rate is good.

Hi ses6jwg
Moneyfacts are a good comparison site for the best accounts currently available.

I just had my girls halifax savings books updated yesterday. Previously 10% now 1.1%!! They each have roughly £1,500, so I want to move it ASAP."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0
