I never made it to Uni, but did an HND at college, where we had 5 people over 35 in the class, the oldest was about 45, they helped us a lot with our course work and were obviously more mature than us, but we loved having them on the course and made great friends with them,

Go for it, reckon you would enjoy it and only gain in the end.

I used to teach Maths at Birkbeck College, and most of my students were older than me...

Hubby did his degree in his thirties and I've done some extra courses with the OU as well, but my main degrees were done at the "normal" age.
  • I am doing a degree at Uni (part-time, some modules at night some during the day with full-timers) and there are a few folk older than me. I am now in 4th year, will finish next year at 41 years of age !! Have made some great friends too, which is an added bonus.

    Go for it!

I was 37 when I started, I'll be 40 when I qualify - but I'm hoping my maturity will make it easier, rather than harder to get a job:rotfl:. I'm the oldest in my tutor group by about 5 years, but there are people 15 years older than me on the course.

Everyone just gets on together. We are all lovely student nurses:j
  • I did my degree when I was 31, had baby during my last year but still managed a 2:2.

    Good luck.
  • i am 32 and just started my degree this September. In one of my subjects everyone is 18,19,20 in the other subject I am almost the youngest! A few 18,19 yo and then the vast majority are over 35...the eldest being almost 60
  • Most of you are spring chickens compared to my dad then! He started doing his degree part time (whilst working full time) and he finishes next year, when he will be 54.

I am thinking of doing an access course next year and then uni, if the access course is successful. I will be 46 next may:eek: God willing.
