Gas & Electricity Direct Debit
Hi, I have Gas & Electricity from British Gas and on my September statements I was £130 in credit for Gas (Websaver 2) and £25 in credit for Electricity (Websaver 2).
I pay £60/month for gas & £36/month for electricity.
Im struggling for money just now, so should I ask for the Gas account money or would I be better leaving that where it is for the winter when I will be using more?
Thanks

Depends on their terms and conditions. These suppliers do carry out reviews against historical usage and set the DDs at a level to cover a full year, and unless tarriffs change or your usage goes up they'd stay at that level.
Not sure if BG will refund until it hits a certain credit level. But even if they did, they'd probably raise your monthly DD payments to a level that keeps you in credit.
If you think you're going to use that amount of credit during winter, I'd leave it and pay the lower DD amounts over the next few months.0 -
To be 'only' £130 and £25 in credit in Sept - with the winter ahead is very little.
You are very likely to emerge from winter with a debit balance on your gas.
In fact I would not be surprised if BG do not try and increase your gas DD.0
