I though they sent the delivery from a warehouse, and that was one of the reasons they tend to have everything in stock. I've just been sent a £20 voucher. I've got a lot of food in from last weeks Tesco delivery so I might have to leave it. Think I read someone here was sent a huge discount code for not doing a second order in a year (£50 or something). Still, £75 for being less than 5 minutes late is amazing! Unfortunately my time isn't worth anything like that. Maybe its worth picking rush hour delivery slots just in case!

I've used a number of online grocery stores (Ocado, Tesco, Waitrose and Asda), and Ocado is by far the best.

    I like them best because:
    a) There are much less substituions than I experienced with the others
    b) The fresh food has tended to have longer sell-by dates than the others
    c) The delivery slots are in one hour intervals, which makes a surprising difference when you're sitting in waiting for your shopping.
    d) Delivery is free over £75 whereas you generally have to pay for the others
    e) I find that many of the items (that I buy, anyway) are no dearer than Tesco, Sainsburys, Adsa. I've done occasional "phantom shops" to compare prices, and Ocado is rarely significantly dearer. If it has been, this is usually offset by the free delivery.

The only downside I've found is that they didn't always stock what I wanted. Although now I find the same problem in the other shops, it's just habit. I have made a number of product requests and have been pleased to see that they have started stocking some of the things I requested.

Anyway, just my two penn'orth :-)
  • A little tip if you've not shopped with them before - register on the site, have a nosy around, then 'ignore' them for a week or so.

It seems they almost always send you a really good incentive code then - for me it was a bottle of (good) wine and a big box of Duchy Organic chocs - and it still worked with my £15 off code I had at the time - so I got £15 off, and what was probabaly getting on for £20 worth of gifts, on a £75 order :D

I use them every few months now - they are pricy for normal shopping, but they stock some things (eco-friendly and organic ranges) that I can't find anywhere else. And they send me a gift or discount code most weeks I don't shop.
