"Safe Mode" on Garmin Nuvi 250 Sat Nav

Can anyone tell me what "Safe Mode" is, theres no reference to it in the Manual, should i leave it on ,or not?

    "safemode" basically disables most funtions on the nuvi while the car is moving...meaning less distractions for you having to touch the screen while driving & watching the road..bit like the screen lock slider on the on/off switch
