I hope Lou's brother is doing well.
Kinda lost today I have come home to a dying hamster
I think Mum fed her too many choc treats last weekend so she has had a bowel problems for two days. The usually clear up after a while but they are still there. Well I came home from work and she is sat by her door, which is unsual because they are nocturnal. Well after picking her up she had what I thought been cleaning herself as her lips were covered in brown stuff. Well its not, looking at her properly half of her lower lip is grey/brown and looks like its been caught on something when she has been chewing. She now cant walk straight and looks drunk.
So tomorow it will be straight to the vet, fingers crossed they can fit her in and I just hope they dont want to put her to sleep

Spud - I had sore knees when I started too...
Its because your muscles arent adapted to running - can you do some prep walking as well as running - its will develop the muscles without putting so much strain on the knees (less weight forced through the joint because of the lower speed)...
Right, I've increased my walking from this week too. S'all good

Thanks Squizz. It's good to hear from you both that it's not just me. I assumed it was my age/weight etc but maybe I can overcome it if I keep going

If its aches/pains rather than sharp pains then it should be fine - it it hurts when you arent running and gets worse then get it checked out just to be sure...I also used to get sore ankles after all my long runs but I've realised recently I'm not getting them anymore, but now I am getting a sore achilles - you always have some niggles when you are running I think - its knowing when it becomes an injury thats difficult!0

No, it's just general achy painy. It's probably partly the shock of being back in school bending, kneeling, crouching etc again after 6 weeks off
