ps. I read in one of your posts you were thinking of using the Marine Plywood for your bathroom - did you use it & were you happy with it?

No didn't use marine plywood. Think it was one of underlay_guru's options for me though. Haven't done anything about my bathroom floor yet and my plans have changed a few times now. My current plan is to go for bathroom carpet on it's own (stuff from tradepriced.co.uk probably - you might want to check them out for their various laminate underlays if you haven't already).

Incidentally there's a post on the site somewhere discussing this and the poster reckons he 'tested' it resistance to water himself buy leaving an offcut in a bucket of water for several days if not weeks and he said it didn't even swell. Now I realise that's not scientific by any means but it makes the point to some extent don't you think?
you sure that wasn't aquastep..i vaguely recall coming across the post your talking about in my own research though as i read just about every thread with any mention of laminate or aquastep! It may be fine and you'll get a few good years out of it so long as your not regularly flooding it with the washing machine, washing the floors or pet's urinating on it etc. Sometimes you just have to make a compromise - mine being carpet in the bathroom that i'm fully expectant of having to replace regularly!

[EDIT] nope your right it was quickstep :

..or at least that what they said it was![/EDIT]

  • yeah thought it was Quickstep....

If I get 5 years out of it that'll do me to be honest, but i've got to get over the uneven stone problem first to get too that point.

Good luck with the bathroom floor.
