Wheelchair push bar

Options
Hi,

Just wondering if anyone had any idea where I can get one of these, it attaches to the handles at the back and makes it possible to push with one hand, I'm somewhat fed up of getting smacked in the face by mum's handbag as it falls down her arm :P I'm pretty sure this is what it's called as I found an American site selling them with that name.

I've searched through google and have found nothing, apart from ones that are already attached to a wheelchair, but I know they're available as add-ons as I've seen them! Really frustrating when you're used to the internet finding everything and anything for you!

Thanks in advance! :)

Has your mother had an assessment with your local wheelchair services?

WCS can supply her with a Action 3 which can have a tension bar between the handles, it is attached to the end of the handles and makes the wheelchair flex less to make the wheelchair more stable.

  • I've got an 18" seat lightweight Enigma, though I'm currently looking for a 16" lightweight one as my electric is 16" and so much more supportive, the 18' is too big for me and doesn't give me the support I need, plus, it's been bent (camping with lots of mud!) and won't go straight if I self propel annoyingly. Sunnyone, we've never been seen by wheelchair services, my OT just left me to buy my own wheelchair and so mum's not seen wheelchair services either. Thanks both :)
