marks and spencer are 1.42 today. if you have a cheque centre near you [bright yellow building] they sometimes do a slightly better rate.when i got mine at m&s i got 1.415 and cheque centre were giving 1.42.

    Hi

I have always used Travelex because they have always had the best rate. At present they are 1.4201 but they update their systems about midday.
I would recommend checking https://www.travelex.co.uk about 1pm today and that way if they have gone up they will beat M&S. If however the rate goes down then M&S will still be there for you at 1.42

Thomas Cook had Euros at 1.43 today. But you had to buy at least £500

Just make sure you buy £500 otherwise the rate is awful. 1.30 or something

We found last year that although Marks and Spencer will have the best published rate, the hight street travel agents usually have 'Deals of the Week', as prev mentioned.
Always worth a walk down the high street on the way to Marks and Spencer.
  • I had to get some Euros yesterday for my sons school trip next week. Went into M&S as usual, but they didn't have any ready (still counting). Went to Thomas Cook who were advertising the same rate, but only over £500 worth. I asked the assistant the rate for £30 worth - 1.35, but then she asked me if I had seen a better rate, which I had at M&S, so she said she could match that rate for me - so it's always worth asking for a better rate!

if you buy online at travelex will you not get charged for using your debt card by the bank? i always take cash to m&s because i hate the bank charges for using my card.

If you've got a M&S credit card, there's no charge for buying foreign currency from their Bureau de Change.
