Hi
Internet explorer has an habit of shutting down also I've been losing a couple of files lately, I can only get these to work again after the software is reinstalled.

I've updated windows but to no avail.

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
    UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

If you dont use a proxy (If you dont know what one is then you certainly dont), FIX this using hijack ~
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = webcache.virginmedia.com:8080

Then/or TICK these in hijack then click to FIX them ~

Then it seems you dont have any anti virus software running, really NOT recommended (May I ask what programs you SCANNED with to start with?)

Download AVIRA (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/
This is your new anti virus. UPDATE it then scan the entire computer (Including any USB drives etc you may use)

Then (or if AVIRA wont install) ~
    Please run COMBOFIX

Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download

  • Hi
I was running a free version of avast but removed it last night just incase it was causing problems with computer and closing it down. I will download the ones you suggested and see what happens.

    Many thanks for your help.
