changing language on laptop.

Options
Been trying to help my foreign friend get her laptop into English, we have tried everything possible (we think on pc) anybody got any other ideas please. Been in control panel been in tools tried changing language. Maybe need one of you great experts out there. Thanks in advance.

    In my internet options (tools, internet options, languages.) it is written like this... if that's any help, worth a try.

    English (United Kingdom) [en-gb]

  • What operating system is it? in vista go to Control Panel --> Regional And Language Options --> Select English from the drop down on the first tab

    Should be similar in XP

    SFAIK, all that the Regional Settings do is affect the layout of the keyboard and the formatting of dates, currencies etc.

    The only way to change language is to have an installation disk in the language concerned.

    Actually, if you have Windows Vista Ultimate or Enterprise Edition you can simply install the appropriate language pack. Users of other versions of Vista are limited to one language per installation by default, but utilities exist that can get around this.
