Berrocca

I love this stuff, I find it quite effective and tasty. I like to take it every day and sometimes another one if I know Im partying all night. Its expensive though...Own brands taste minging....Am I kidding myself that its worth this small healthy treat or is it a total waste of money?

"If you eat a balanced diet that includes food from all the major groups, there should be no need to take vitamin supplements. The food you eat will provide you with all the vitamins and minerals you need. Supplements should only be used as a top-up if it is not possible to eat a healthy balanced diet - they aren't a substitute for healthy eating!"

  • I'd drink it more often if it didn't taste so strongly of artificial sweetener :/ Not to mention the colour of your pee afterwards :D
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

The colour isn't from a colour additive, it's because of the B vitamins. They are highly conjugated chromophores - result = mad yellow coloured pee :D

I think Berocca is overpriced (and am I right in thinking it contains a stimulant as well as B vitamins?) I take Boots B complex - always found it great for that blah feeling after a night out drinking. Of course now I hardly drink which is even cheaper :A
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

How many people eat a balanced diet? The definition of a balanced diet is so broad also...For instance I'm a veggie, and through no fault of my own sometimes I have no access to good veggie food (Went on holiday to Ibiza - hello chips and salad ) Sometimes its just easier to make sure you have a vitamin everyday...Thanks though Stompa.

Thanks suseb_99, gonna try them next!
    rachiee glad you agree!
Nuala, must admit Ive stupidly never read the contents well (unlike me! Pete Tong or similar said they were amazing for clubbing in an interview and I just swallow that kind of marketing...) do we know what the stimulant is?

I really like them aswell, have brought me back to life on many an occasion after a hard night out or a few days not eating properly, i just read there are 3 flavours, i have tried orange and tropical(which i think is the best) but did not know of the original, will look it up sometime.

I'm not certain it does contain a stimulant but I know some of those products marketed as giving you energy pep you up with a hit of caffeine or guarana and personally I'd prefer to just have the vitamin. So don't take that bit as gospel!

I agree with you about the balanced diet - I aim to eat one but so often doesn't happen and even if you do, things like drinking deplete certain vitamins so I think a top up can be a good idea.
