As I have a copy of Office Professional 2007 installed on PC, do I need Microsoft Works, which was pre-installed?
Thanks for help.

Nothing ever goes straightforward with Windows, does it? Receiving message that I can't uninstall as 'network something or other is being used by other resourses' (error code 1706, I think).0

With a better error description and error number it might be possible to Google with that information to see if anyone else has had the problem, and has solved it. As stated, you say little more than "something has gone wrong somewhere", which doesn't really give much to go on...!0

Make sure you have no programs, including any tasks running (you'll find these down on the bottomm right of the screen necxt to the clock, you just need to right click and it will give you the option to quit them) running when you uninstall. If that fails restart your computer and try the uninstall again:beer: :A0

Have tried to uninstall again - message says unable to uninstall as being used by network resource which is unavailable. There is an option to uninstall using Works disc, but all I have are the recovery discs I made when initially setting up the laptop.
There are few icons at RH side of taskbar, ie updates, bluetooth, Vaio updates, touchpad, HP printer, AVG, Roboform, battery and wireless connection.
Most of these don't give an option to quit, several have option Exit. Will it stop these devices working altogether if i click exit'?
Thanks for help.0 -
You could attempt to uninstall Works by restarting into Safe Mode0

Thank you. Will try next time I restart PC.0
