Help - how do I restore my laptop back to its factory settings? :S

Is there anything wrong with it's current settings to make you want to do this ?

you need to boot from the 'operating system reinstallation cd' and format from there before the reinstall , the insert the drivers CD when asked

remember you will lose all your files

You don`t need any disk for a Dell.
The hard drive is partitioned to restore to factory settings using Symantic Restore

You don`t need a disk to put your Dell back to day one.

Using Dell™ PC Restore
NOTICE: Using Dell PC Restore permanently deletes all data on the hard drive and

To use PC Restore:
1 Turn on the computer.

If you do not press <Ctrl><F11> in time, let the computer finish
booting (starting), and then restart the computer again.
NOTICE: If you do not want to proceed with PC Restore, click Reboot.
3 Click Restore and click Confirm.
The restore process takes approximately 6 to 10 minutes to complete.
4 When prompted, click Finish to reboot the computer.
