Noise reducing front door

Hi all,

My front door (currently solid wood) is rather "worn" shall we say and has seen better days. It isn't particularly well sealing (even with extra foam strips around the frame) - especially around the letter box etc...

I am therefore planning on replacing it with a nice new one - however I would like one which helps to reduce noise in the house as we leave on a fairly busy road - which provides a bit of a nuisance.

My question therefore is - what type of front doors are best for reducing outside sound?

I am loathed to get UPVC type as they just look horrible - I would much prefer a nice wood one - but will I be shooting mself in the foot from a sound point of view?

Door also has a fan light above....which I may be tempted to replace for a double glazed unit...
