I have a few old HD's that i need to get info from.
They are older IDE drives but the computer i use now is ATA , is there an adapter out i can buy or some other way of getting the info transferred to my current pc ?
Mrs needs her older Swedish CV's etc and its doing my nut in as i havent kept up with pc components for a good 7 years since i built my last one.
Thanks in advance guys .

Do you mean they are PATA disks and your PC is SATA or are they even older than that? My memory of the really old disks isn't too good either and I don't recall what came before those old flat 40 wire cables.
You should still be able to get a PATA to USB caddy easily enough.0 -
You can buy SATA to PATA (IDE/ATA) adapters, e.g. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SATA%2fS%2fSerial-ATA-to-PATA%2fIDE-Adapter%2fConverter-Cable_W0QQitemZ250472733663QQcmdZViewItem0

I prefer the IDE to USB gadgets you can get on eBay: £6 delivered. Just plug the IDE hard drive into the gadget, the gadget has a USB cable, plug the USB cable into a computer and it makes the IDE hard drive appear as a removable disk so you can just copy stuff across.0

You could just buy an enclosure from about 20 quid i think.Fit the drive in that then connect via usb.
I used one, to connect a sata drive on my pc which has no sata compatablity on motherboard.0 -
Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...0
