Toby is crawlling all over the living room chasing an empty water bottle. He has all sorts of expensive toys, but he loves empty bottles!
Right, I've ordered shopping, all healthy stuff. The house is almost devoid of chocolate, so fingers crossed this week will work. Might have to leave my purse at home when I'm at the Doctors and Clinic, other wise I'll return with cakes. I'm a stone lighter than when I started, so that isn't too bad, at least I've not gone backwards, just had a slow few weeks.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

 Grr... brother just called (waking the nap-baby) and filled me in on drama I knew nothing about; his builder friend had been going to lodge with my parents in their annexe, was going to do some work on it to make it habitable and then rent it very cheaply.
Unfortunately he had only got as far as doing temporary work (not good enough for official rental accommodation, etc) when he had a big party, deeply offended the neighbours so that they came round and shouted at and intimidated my mum, then squirted glue into their door lock in revenge, cue more neighbour shouting and intimidation.
Clearly my parents then said they didn't want him living there, so he is now asking for £7000 for the work he has done - most of which is temporary and useless in terms of getting another lodger and would have to be torn down - and which my parents never offered to pay for, discussed what the nature of the work would be, or got involved at all (they just left it to him to decide what needed to be done for him to live there).
My brother is trying to broker a compromise, although he has unsurprisingly fallen out badly with the 'friend'; I've said that if he can't get something done I'll happily handle court stuff on behalf of my parents. They are old and vulnerable, and I am utterly furious at this ridiculous set of events, which I knew nothing about til today.
Thanks all, just needed a quick rant0 -

Bruno thats terrible, I also hope he gets what he deserves. I would say the 'friend' has no chance coz i presume there was no contract for work/residence, so I think I'd hazard a good guess who would win in court......:D
ETA sorry chris forgot bout you:T:jEveryone is entitled to their opinionEllie 25/12/070 -
