recommendations ladies/men,and i know i have asked it before, but the time has certainly come .... cots and mattresses ..... i dont want to get a cheap mattress for the sake of it becuase i am wondering if LO would sleep better with a good mattress. i have been looking at kiddicare/mothercare/argos/ikea ...

This is my cot and mattress which I bought from this ebay seller. It was fab service and I think I received it the next day. The mattress is pretty thick (10cm) and i've had the drop side down and the base positioned at the top and pulled right next to the bed so we are almost co-sleeping. I was originally going to get the ikea cot, but when I factored in the cost of a thick mattress + teething rails + hastle of getting it, I went for this one!

Speaking of which, how is Benjamin's bum these days, MFD? :D

And while I'm asking questions.. is Benjamin still "Benjamin" all the time to you now or does it get shortened to "Ben"? I don't think he'd sound the same if you started referring to him as Ben..:o

Benjamin's bum is mostly fine...but he does have a very red crack (I am talking the small of his back kinda area) which needs looking after quite regularly. He has always been very red there though. No bleeding since I cried lots :o

Yup - he is still Benjamin - I can't imagine him being called Ben either...although we chose the name mindful of the fact that he would be Ben (to rhyme with Ken ;)) at some point!! We will let him choose when he wants to shorten his name.

It really bugs me when I introduce him as Benjamin and people say 'Hello Ben' :o

  • I think its an odd coincidence that I stumbled on this site. I saw Martin on the Wright Stuff one morning and logged on! :)

Two and a half years later I'm still here and have made some fabulous friends who have seen me through two of the most important and precious events of my life.

And for that, I thank you all! :T

i'm going to be honest here....i dont really let on here how things are sometimes, just feel people have bigger problems than mine (and plus i dont open up).

i have been very lucky to have had an offer of a friendly ear and i am very grateful, just need to learn how to take it :-)

AF I'm very much the same I don't really like burdening other people that have bigger/worse problems/worries than me. I've said a couple of times I've been down but never divulged it's just nice to get virtual hugs(hey and not in a dodgy way before your mind starts wondering SM).

:grouphug: Noone problems are bigger, AF.. they're just different problems :) We're all here to help each other.. ;)

I'm sat here in tears cos I was trying to think of how to express to you all how awesome you are all and how you've gotten me through the last five months.. :o

I remember the Sunday I had Rhys and when I was still coming round from the GA, I asked my mum (who has limited computer/forum knowledge to the point of I wasn't sure if she'd know how to turn my laptop on) to log on to the Preg Thread to tell you all what happened and how I had to groggily explain to her how to PM my mobile number to Sami (thankyou millions again hun!) so I could talk to you all.. :o
