"Splat" - for 0-4s with parents or carers - involves "Rhymetime" nursery rhymes and song singing with basic percussion instruments for everyone to shake and is followed by an art activity in our function room where the kids are free to enjoy themselves and make mess. We have around 15 0-4s with parents each week and those who come really enjoy it and come regularly. We provide tea and coffee and it is a very friendly relaxed environment. Everyone is welcome

splat is not a typo. It is Welsh for- guess....?

Weezl, on the topic of groups -- me and little ones go to a mother n toddler on a tuesday and thurs morning. 9-11am. its hard going getting everyone ready n outta the house, but worth it. I would love to go to more, off to do a bita research -- i know there is a surestart in east belfast, but i think its just for a particular catchment area....

sounds good carla, hope your researching goes well :)

Mollster's crib's a Stokke one, it goes from birth to around seven years old and has four separate stages - tiny baby, regular cot, toddler/small child bed and then it turns into two chairs.

:eek:goodness me, it's like one of those gadgets from 'Acme' on road runner!

I was going to but I think I am the only one with the muchos cheapos ikea chair!!

    As others said- me too!

Here is fergie not using it in the way it was intended...

Am I the only one that slightly giggles about the name 'quinny'?
'my quinny is so lovely and roomy'.

    *sniggers*

I thought I was the only one, but then I also find the word "dongle" utterly hilarious and frequently have to restrain myself from saying things like, that's what she said. I'm a child, really.

Oh, and the fairies are strapping on their shoes ready to take a post-doctor walk to the post office.

Edit: cause I love that picture of Fergie. Mollster's crib's fantastic - I love it so much, although there's no drop side so it'll be a PITA when she's bigger. Her almost 5kg (or is she more? we'll see in less than an hour!) self is already hard to shift from her bed - she's learned to make herself almost impossible to disturb if she wants to stay put. I think she learned it from the cat, who last night took up my entire side of the bed and when I lifted him he just streeeeeeetched so I couldn't move the little bu99er.

Hugs for elle, feelie, Rhys and Toby today. I'm just grabbing breakfast before we take the Mollster for her first injections. I know they're better than nasty diseases, but still. I hate the thought of taking her somewhere that'll hurt her.

I was actually tempted to take her to a different doctor for the jabs so that she doesn't associate her regular doctor with spiky pain. Has anyone done that, or how do you get around having the doctor take away pain and give it as well?

My activities list for the week looks hopeful although there are some activities which may turn out to be the wrong age group for Fergie. If they aren't though, we could do something morning and afternoon all week.
 Personally I would find even one thing every day too much but everyone is different. Something that might be worth bearing in mind is how much you'll be able to get to just after the next one is born because if Fergus is used to going to two groups every day and then there is a sudden drop it might make things difficult.

I agree, and I am often having thoughts like this. At the car boot ysterday a woman had a stash of beeeyooootiful little monsoon dresses. And I'm muttering under my breath to DH 5 weeks to go, don't let me look, don't let me look.
I would have just bought them on the basis that they would do as presents if I never had a girl.

I don't know what the vaccination schedule is like in Germany but here it is 2months, 3m, 4m, 12m,13m and then age four so the early ones I think they are too young to particularly remember and by the time they are four they are old enough for you to explain it to them.

    Good point!

Much food for thought here ladies :)

I'm thinking that when we have visitors we won't go to activities, and I think Fergus finds visitors just as stimulating and 'socialising' as activities.

If the first 2 weeks are anything like the first 2 weeks with him there'll be friends and family galore at first. So maybe that will tide him over til I can begin going to things again. Or perhaps my mum or DH might take him to stuff if I take a while to recover, perhaps if I have a c-section or something...

SS it's a practice nurse who does the jabs here, so no bad associations for Fergie. His doctor is a joyful experience where a nice man talks to him while he gets to have his nappy off and 3 adults pay close attention to his bottom.

    He loves it!

    Woo, I'm annoyed!!!

We went out to dinner yesterday and paid on my debit card... However, it came up declined on the machine... So the girl put it through again... Came up declined again... Ended up using the same card to pay an extortionate amount to withdraw my own money from their machine and pay in cash... Checked the bank this morning... 2 payments have gone out!

The bank say it was accepted their end and the money has been ring fenced and is waiting for their bank to claim it... The duty manager of the pub has no idea what I'm talking about and has to get someone else to call me back this afternoon...

It wouldn't be too much of an issue if it wasn't 2 lots of £54! We're really lucky its not the end of the month too, otherwise it would of crippled us...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
