Awww Keely - no evenings out at all? Or do you mean, overnights? We haven't had either of us away overnight yet. We've had babysitting for OH's birthday, our anniversary, and a couple of other occasions only.
Both, i don't have anyone I trust to look after Elliot. But to be honest-i don't do nights out anyway, so don't miss that bit. Just miss the odd romantic hotel here and there
Keely did I miss an update on your MIL?
The op was a successShe should be coming home later on this afternoon hopefully, my SIL is coming home to be with her over the rest of weekend.
keely.
ps-because i had problems with bf i felt a huge relief when my milk dried up and my nipples healed up. As much as i wanted to bf, i was glad to have my boobs back after all the pain/problems.
pps-was watching a repeat of supernanny last night, no offence to anyone here-but the mom was still feeding her 3 YEAR old every few hours!! I don't think that was right to be honest.Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -

how is everyone tonight????
hugs to all the need, and hi to any newbies.
looks like we still might have reflux as an issue with LO. i am now having to look at giving her smaller amounts of food/milk more often. as if weaning wasn't confusing enough.
would love any advice from others who had reflux issues with older bubs (keely???)
she isn't being sick really, it's more that she is getting pain from some fluid coming up (but not so far up to make her throw up). this would explain her frequent waking at night (where she always wakes crying - not thudding on the crib with her feet as weezl too experiences with fergie).

Hi, sorry i am slowly working through all the posts
Elliot hated the acidic sick that came up, made his eyes water. The gaviscon helped to neutralise it, more then stop the sickness completely. Also when he was being weaned-we learnt what foods made the sickness worse, ie some foods are high in acidity anyway ie tomatoes and fruit jelly really didn't agree with his tummy. Even now-i avoid ceetain things, even the ready cartons of growing up milk make him sick.

AF, this may be a rather contraversial answer to your reflux question
as some on here know, i took seth to the doctors several times and ended up in tears either in the surgery or on the way home, cos as seth was putting on weight well the doctors refused to prescribe him anything more than gaviscon to help him, he was crying constantly and bringing up stomach acid all the time. the gaviscon was weighing down the milk but by the time it was a little digested, the milk had gone through/started to go through and we were left with the problem of stomach acid. i couldnt lay him on his back cos sick would dribble out the side of his mouth, and i couldnt lay him on his front cos the pressure on his belly would bring it up even quicker. i ended up sitting him upright on my lap, which he didnt like cos he is a wriggle bum, or putting him in his bouncer, which gave him a bit of a flat headbad mummy
the only thing the doctors kept telling me that when he could walk his muscles would strengthen and that it would ease off then. so when FIL brought over DSD's walker from the loft and seth loved it, we decided to see if using that would help to strengthen his muscles, and it did, cos the reflux disappeared in about a monthit helped that he loved it from the word go!
i know that walkers arent recommended cos of the tippy toes thing, but TBH if its an issue i think its just going to have to be one of those things we have to deal with. also, his head is starting to fill out again, and i'd rather tippy toes than a properly flat head!!
in other news, i feel terrible this morning, really sick, but when i eat it goes away  i've only ever had this once before  i hope i'm being paranoid, its not like i'm late or even due on or anything :eek:Mummy to

Keely I don' think anyone here thinks BFing a 3yr old that often is normal
Em - I have nothing against walkers, Chris was too short to be in his properly so I purposefully put it on the highest setting. They only get tippy toes if allowed to scoot around in it for hours on end when they're too short to put the foot down flat.
I just had to have a decontamination shower! Ed was sat on my lap facing me, did a BIG burp and then a river followed soaking me through to my knickers!!
Em - what is Matt doing on Saturday Kitchen?! did he get mixed up and think it was Market Kitchen? :rotfl:0 -
i thought that, i checked what program it was on the virgin thingy!! :rotfl:
seths can stand in the walker on flat feet but when he is scooting around he chooses to tippytoes it  but when i hold his hands and walk him around he does that flat footed!Mummy to

I must start baking! When I do my next monthly shop (probably next week) I will make sure I get all the ingredients! Always forget - I've got flour and sugar - just need eggs & butter and the nice stuff to make it taste good!
This is the nightlight - has music and a little show which sends you asleep!
MIL gone to Matalan and picked up some cot sheets up for me so from Monday he's in there!
Monitor is ace - super sensitive and looks fab. Need to remember to put the other one on eBay.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
