There is a short thread here "Anyone been to Wassenaar in Holland?" which tells you what you need to know. I don`t know how to put in the link but if you search you should find it. Mary0

I live a couple of miles from this park, in a city called Leiden, so anything you want to know about the area just ask me. I'm an ex-pat from Scotland and have lived here for 21years. Married a native!
As far as I know the amusement park is included in the price of your accomodation even if you are camping ( apart from the 'Tiki Bad' which is an indoor swimming pool).
Duinrell is located in a village called Wassenaar which has plenty of shops and a couple of supermarkets. the nearest one to the park is probably C1000 which is about a 10 minute walk. It has everything you might need and is cheap enough. There is also an Aldi but it isn't in the main shopping area but it is also not far. There is also a shop called Hema which is very good for everything from sun cream to underwear!
Are you going by car or flying? You can rent bikes quite cheaply and this is a great way to get around as there are cycle paths everywhere so it is very safe.
The park is very near the beach you can cycle there in about 15 minutes, maybe the boys would like that.
The public transport in Holland is very good. There are buses from Wassenaar to The Hague and lots of other places, although there is no train station, the nearest is in Voorschoten which is a couple of miles from Duinrell, but the bus stops right next to it.
If you fancy a bit of culture you could visit my town of Leiden. It is the birth place of Rembrandt and this year is the 400th aniversary of his birth so there are lots of (FREE) things going on in the summer. If you google Leiden you can get any info if you are interested.
Anyway, feel free to ask me anything you like.
By the way, I have a 14 year old daughter so I will ask her ( when she gets out of bed!) if she has any ideas for things for the boys to do.
Hope this helps0 -
