how do i get online discounts for home insurance on non standard homes?

I've been given a b&c renewal quote i'm happy with but every year i compare prices just incase.
I have troubles in that i'm insuring a cottage flat, basically two houses on the bottom and two on the top, all have their own gardens/front door etc.
No insurance site regosnises this house type, putting it in as a flat means i get a dearer quote and anything else is blatantly lying (semi etc).
I always end up calling the companies, discribing the house, and depending who i get decide it's a flat or a maisonette, or a country cottage, but i miss out on all the quidco/mutualpoints reward options as i have to phone them.
I'm sure i can't be the only one in this boat - what do i do?

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

I dont know about quidco but certainly a lot of insurers will give you their normal online discount if you try to do the quote online and it then fails because of the non-standard risk issue and you have to phone them (if you explain the situation). All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
