help - moving house
Options
I have just moved house and the supllier for this property is eon for both gas and electricity. My old suppliers were british gas and edf.I have an ongoing dispute with british gas and have an oustanding payment plan arranged with them.My question is can I just stop my suppliers from previous address and go with eon ? I was planning on telling british gas that I no longer wish to use them, even though I will still have to pay the outstanding amount. Is it possible to do this?

Hi devona,
As you have moved in to a property supplied by E.ON you will need to call to let them know that you have moved in and wish to open new accounts in your name, remember to give your meter readings from the day that you moved in.
This will have nothing to do with your old suppliers or old accounts and you can choose who you would like to supply your new house.

Make sure you give British Gas a reading to close your account and arrange a payment plan. This will normally be allowed up to 3 months although discretion can be applied depending on the circumstances. Make sure they also have your Forwarding address as you do not want charges applied if there are any problems.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
